Business appraisals are prepared in accordance with the Business Valuation Standards of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Internal Revenue Service and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) of 1974. Our analytically driven narrative reports are tailored specifically for each client and convey complex business, financial, economic, and valuation specifics in a clear and concise manner.

Our services include the valuation of all waterfall structures of privately held equity, including common stock, preferred stock, and the various other classes of stock that are frequently found in closely-held companies. The process involves a thorough analysis of the target firm, the competitive environment, and the pertinent economic factors to project the cash flows which are essential to determining value. When appropriate we calculate and extract personal goodwill to derive the enterprise value. Moreover, we develop the appropriate risk premia for impairments to marketability and control, which are then applied to the appraisal calculations to determine the discounted enterprise value. Private equity interests are valued based on the specific ownership characteristics of the interests in question.
